In their first editorial of the year, the editorial board of the Longmont Times-Call hit the nail on the head - we need our lawmakers to take action to fix our broken education funding system.

Part of the problem is that the Legislature is hampered by a series of voter-approved constitutional amendments, such as the Gallagher Amendment and TABOR, which often conflict with each other and unnecessarily restrict the ability of lawmakers to respond to economic circumstances. We have called on lawmakers to offer voters a comprehensive proposal to bring these provisions into harmony.
