Lobby Day

March 18th & 19th

Last fall, we came together as a union to bargain our new Partnership Agreement for the next three years. It wasn’t easy, but we successfully ratified the new contract with 97% approval!

Now, the time has come to ensure funding for what we’ve worked so hard to achieve.

March 18th, the night before we head to the Capitol, we'll be meeting at our hotel in Denver to prepare for lobbying the next day.

March 19th, everyone will meet at the hotel and ride together in our chartered bus to the Capitol. We'll lobby legislators for the first half of the day, then return on the bus to the hotel to debrief and celebrate!

We have a duty to engage with our State Government not just as taxpayers, but also as the workers who serve Coloradans on behalf of our elected officials. We know what’s happening in our departments, and we know what needs to be done about it.

That’s why it’s up to us as WINS members to educate the State Legislature on what’s in our Partnership Agreement, how it will help Colorado thrive, and why they should support funding.

Build Our Voice

Lobby Day isn’t the only way we can strengthen our voice in the State Legislature. Every day, members are working to ensure our public services and the workers who provide them are respected by our State Government.

Hold politicians accountable

Members of our Political Committee meet bi-weekly on Zoom to strategize about our collective engagement with state politics. We’re working to improve state employment and the services we provide to Coloradans.

JOIN POLITICAL COMMITTEE

Fight corporate influence

Members can contribute to the fund for our Committee on Political Education (COPE) to give state employees a voice in state politics. Corporations spend millions against the interests of working people; now it’s time to fight back.
